Laundry

Over 1/3rd of artificial scents used in consumer products like laundry detergent & dryer sheets are toxic.  Scent & allergy free alternatives are often available

Baking soda & vinegar
One half cup to two cups baking soda (lowers suds & hard water) added to the bottom of the washing machine (dissolve in warm water first if using cold in the wash) before adding clothing (& pretreated on most stains for 30 min, 12 hours for grease) & 1/4th (if adding it regularly & if using a front loader) to one half cup vinegar (distilled white- not cleaning vinegar) to the rinse or in the fabric softener dispenser (but not in the wash) both absorb odors, clean stains, brighten clothes, soften fabric, clean the washer & leave a natural fresh smell. Vinegar also helps remove mildew (mold). Avoid vinegar with elastic clothing, & avoid use with bleach or ammonia.
